The war in Ukraine has been an ongoing issue since the US-orchestrated coup against the elected president of that country in 2014. Roger D. Harris states that “The conception that the war started on February 24 of this year is like viewing the “invasion” by the US and its allies of Normandy in June 1944 against the “sovereign” and “democratic” Vichy French as the start of World War II”. To think that the war started just this year shows how little us Americans actually read and inform ourselves of what is going on in today’s society and our history. When looking at this article I found that I was agreeing with most of the information the author was speaking on. I found that the section of the article labeled “upsides of war for the US and downsides for everyone else”.
